DOG OWNERS ALERT
As you probably know the tick season is upon us. Several of my friend's dogs have contracted Lyme Disease or tested positive for the virus. This is a disease about which very little is known. There is a shot for it (actually 2 shots initially and then a booster annually), but no one can guarantee they will work. The shots are fairly expensive at $25-$30 each. I have decided to forego the shots and try to keep my 4 Springer Spaniels as tick free as possible. This is difficult as they are in the woods and tall grass all summer and fall. I am not recommending that you don't give your dogs the shots. I just don't know. However, a good tick and flea repellant is Bio Spot. It is probably as good and maybe better than Frontline and less expensive. You can buy it locally. but the cheapest place I have found is www.drsfostersmith.com
What ever method you choose, good luck!
